Settlers attacked activists, journalists in front of IDF troops. Nobody was arrested.

Video footage shows settler attackers assaulting Palestinian activists and journalists in the West Bank with IDF soldiers present — and no arrests followed.

The clip, released by Israeli journalists, shows a confrontation in which armed settlers struck at people in the area. In the background, Israeli soldiers are visible and did not intervene. No one was taken into custody in the aftermath.

The footage is one of several recent incidents that have drawn growing international attention. A letter signed by nearly all US Senate Democrats — including members who are typically moderate on Israel questions — called the pattern of settler violence “fatal” and urged Prime Minister Netanyahu to take action. The letter was delivered this week and has not drawn a public response from the Netanyahu office.

In a separate development, Israel’s IDF West Bank chief reportedly warned the Prime Minister that the pattern of attacks could trigger a major spike in Palestinian militant activity — a framing that puts the security calculation squarely on the government’s plate.

The UK’s new leader Keir Starmer has also moved the needle, telling reporters the country is “poised” to impose sanctions on settlement goods. Critics on both sides have already framed the measure as either long-overdue accountability or a de facto boycott. The diplomatic temperature is rising on multiple fronts. What follows will be watched closely in Tel Aviv, in Washington, and in London alike.
